Q: So What are all the snakes about?
A: Please click to view the Our Badge page

Q: Are those alchemy symbols? Wasn't Flammel an alchemist? What is the connection?
A: Chateau Flammel is about turning coarse, base materials, even people into something refined. Now that is alchemy!

Q: Why doesn't your household have a peer at the head?
A: Firstly, it is a myth that you need a peer to have a house. Secondly, we didn't have a peer in the house when the need arose and we were the ones there to answer it. Necessity knows no titles, only those who act with the necessary and appropriate response to the crisis.

Q: Who is the "head of the household"?
A: Lady Meliore is the sole head of household because that was the wish of the founders at the time it was made. She holds the registration on the house hame and badge.

Q: I notice some of you have similar backgrounds for your personas. Are you all connected like that or is it a requirement?
A: We have 2 late period Venetians, one Spaniard and a Swiss becoming Russian. No, the similarity is purely coincidental though it can be said that people find comfort and mental stimulation in the company of people with whom they share interests.

Q: How do I become a member?
A: Spend time in our company and let us get to know you. If you are a good fit and we are accepting a member that year, we will ask you if you wish to join. We are not insulted if you inquire. Generally, we only accept one new member per year (or a couple if they come as a matched set). We take only one a year because after they are inducted they are given a year to really get on their feet, receive personalized instruction and really have 'their year' with our full attention. We feel taking on more than that at a time doesn't give our new member adequate time just for him or her, unless they are assigned to different teachers.

Q: How did you come have these alliances?
A: They have developed as we have grown our network of mutual friends. One group is our Patron house from which we receive our Heavy Weapons Champion. Another is the house of a Laurel to whom one of us is apprenticed. Another is a house we are friendly with and from which one of our members came originally. The point in these alliances is that we share a reciprocal relationship of favors and loyalty.
